Carlson Hatton

I just fell in love with Carlson Hatton.

He lives and works in LA and from his artist statement it seems like his work is based from "collective conscious."

Hmmmm.

I'm trying to discover an artist who creates work that is already similar to what I do. So my work is simple, graphic and pattern-orientated. I also love doing still lifes but I haven't done a lot of those. Maybe I should try doing still lifes or stark portraits with like patterns over it or something like that. So I'm gonna look up some artists that do start still lifes/portraits and then artists that use patterns.

Claudio Bravo

Zurbaran, 1633

Luc Tuymans

And now for pattern oriented....

More Matthew Ritchie

I just love how oozing and consuming these paintings are. They're like visual monsters and I LOVE that!

Another artist...

Okay I think it's time to bring in another artist. I've been intrigued by Matthew Ritchie's work - here are a few images of his stuff.

I'm pretty sure he uses systems, I'll have to look into that more.
